at least from what we've heard confirmed from the other artists, kelly clarkson, james taylor, who were there, both of them sang live? >> my feeling is that the only reason to lip sync would be the fear of the cold weather and certainly the pressure of the event surrounding her. but it seemed not lip syncing to me. >> it seemed totally real. >> it seemed very real me. >> yeah, again, the u.s. marine band had indicated they didn't have time to do a live performance, that's why it was lip synced. beyonce has not commented, so we're not 100% sure. i have to say when i watched it, it was absolutely glorious, as i'm sure everyone would agree. i was amazed that she could sing like that with the cold and even with being beyonce, it's got to be kind of a nerve-racking moment. >> actually, using something like a backing track while artists are performing on live televised events is kind of standard at this point. so it's possible that she was using a backing track, by that i mean something that she prerecorded before the show and that she was singing along to live. whether that constitutes lip s
